Her name has been referred to as"a horror queen" for her work in horror films. She first became known for playing Marnie Michaels in the HBO comedy-drama program Girls (2012-2017) that brought her a Critics' Choice Award nomination. Her breakthrough came with her role as Rose Armitage, in the horror movie Get Out (2017). This brought her MTV Movie Awards nominations and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
